Aspen Lane No2 at the Rookies for VR

What lurks inside No 2 Aspen Lane?
Many congratulations to our talented games students whose VR game "Aspen Lane - VR Paranormal Investigation" was ranked No2 at "The Rookies" in the VR category.

The Rookie Awards is an annual contest that is open to young creative talent in visual effects, animation, games, virtual reality, motion graphics and 3D visualisation. This year saw thousands of entries in all categories from animation schools all over the world - the most competitive year ever. You can find Aspen Lane here.

Aspen Lane - VR Paranormal Investigation
In Aspen Lane, you play as a Paranormal Investigator called to uncover evidence of a malicious haunting within a family home in North London. The family are relying on you. What mysteries will you uncover down Aspen Lane?

2020 "Rookies"
This year, many of our students had films selected for The Rookies, including "VFX Film of the Year".

Three of our students' films were selected for the finals: "Offcut", "Seeker" and "The Lost City of Aztlan", all three of which are currently also in festival competition. 

Rookie Awards
The Rookie Awards is an annual contest that is open to young creative talent in visual effects, animation, games, virtual reality, motion graphics and 3D visualisation. The contest is open to amateur artists with less than one year of professional experience in their chosen category.

Escape Studios in The Rookies
At Escape Studios we encourage our students to enter the best work that they create during the the course of their studies. Success in the Rookies is especially notable as the number of entrants is enormous; this year there have been 3,769 entries, including work from 521 schools and 88 different countries.

We also had a number of Game Art entries in “Console & PC Finalists“, “Immersive Media Finalists“, “Lightfield Studio Internship Finalists” and “Ninja Theory Studio Internship Finalists“.

Escape Studios Ranked Global No 4 for VFX 
In 2019 The Rookies ranked us No 4 globally for Animation & VFX,  being "Highly Commended" in many categories,  and reaching the finals in many categories in animation, VFX and games.
