ZBrush Modeling at Our Vimeo Channel

ZBrush
We've added a new series of tutorials to our expanding Vimeo Channel Z - ZBrush Modeling with Michael Davies
 and with Jonathan McFall.

ZBrush is one of the most popular 3D sculpting tools for visual effects and games in the creative industries.  Students start by learning the need-to-know basics, and quickly progress to sophisticated techniques.  With ZBrush, digital artists can quickly create a custom model or sculpt, working intuitively to get effective results.

About ZBrush
ZBrush is a digital sculpting tool that combines 3modeling, texturing and painting. It uses a proprietary "pixol" technology which stores lighting, colour, material, orientation, and depth information for the points making up all objects on the screen.

The main difference between ZBrush and more traditional modelling packages (such as Maya) is that it is more akin to traditional sculpting. ZBrush models are generally re-built in Maya with a leaner topology, for use in the animation or VFX pipeline.
