Escapees on "Wicked: For Good"

"Working With Dinosaurs" Wins Best Comedy Award

Working with Dinosaurs wins Best Comedy at FoFF
Many congratulations to the makers of the animated short film "Working with Dinosaurs", which has won "Best Comedy" at the Future of Film Festival.

Working with Dinosaurs is a "mockumentary" short completed by 2nd year undergraduate animation students at Escape Studios, with industry mentors Framestore.  It was directed by Daniel Dutton and Harry Pearson, and produced by Velvet Brandon.  Storyboards and Art Direction were by Sarah Andrews; Effects Animation was by Adam Scrivener, and the CG supervisor was Piotr Noworyta.

"Working with Dinosaurs" Wins Best Director Award

Many congratulations to the makers of the animated short film "Working with Dinosaurs", which has won its second festival award: "Best Director (Super Short Film)" at the Art Film Awards.

Minuet Best Sound Track at Halicarnassus Fest

Congratulations to the makers of Minuet, which has won an award for Best Sound Track at the Halicarnassus Film Festival.

Minuet is a short film about a young girl preparing for a concert recital, directed by Aaron Hopwood and Harry Pearson, and produced by Maddison Gould.  

The original score was composed by Alexandra Harwood.  

Minuet has won many festival awards.

Escapee Harry Pearson Joins the 3rd Floor

Many congratulations to animation Escapee Harry Pearson for starting a new position a Shot Creator at The 3rd Floor.

The 3rd Floor is one of London's leading VFX houses, specialising in previsualisation, a rapidly growing part of the VFX landscape.

Prior to joining the team at the 3rd Floor, Harry started work at Factory 42, a tech startup which specialises in virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality, creating "unique multi-sensory experiences for broadcasters, brands, destinations and artists."

Harry studied animation at Escape Studios, broadening his animation skillset to include modelling and rigging, and graduated in the summer of 2019, part of our first cohort of students to win their BA at Escape Studios.

Interview with Escapee Harry Pearson

Harry Pearson graduated last summer from Escape Studios and soon found work with the animation tech startup Factory 42, specialising in immersive and augmented reality content.

Since last summer he has been working on animation for an interactive installation at a major London museum, involving animal and creature animation.

We interviewed Harry to ask him about his career since leaving Escape Studios, and what advice he might have for current students and Escapees looking to break into the world of animation and augmented reality.

Harry Pearson Junior Rigger at Factory 42

Many congratulations to animation Escapee Harry Pearson for starting a new position as Junior Rigger at Factory 42, an immersive and television content production studio based at Somerset House on the Strand.

Factory 42 specialises in virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality, creating "unique multi-sensory experiences for broadcasters, brands, destinations and artists."

Harry studied animation at Escape Studios, broadening his animation skillset to include modelling and rigging, and will graduate this summer, part of our first cohort of students to win their BA at Escape Studios.
