There are just six days left to apply for one of our postgraduate masters degrees in order to be considered for a scholarship for our September 2024 intake.

Escapee Postgraduate Scholarships Launched

Escape Studios has recently launched our new Escapee Postgraduate Scholarships, open to all our Escapees.  These Postgraduate Scholarships are open to all Escapees who have completed, or are due to complete, an undergraduate degree at Escape Studios. 

UK Govt Finance for Post-Graduate Study

One of the most common questions we get asked at Escape Studios is about the financing of post graduate courses.

The UK Government's student loan system for postgraduate master's degrees is now well established.  A system of low interest loans provides students in the UK with access to postgraduate university courses - including our own MA in 3D Animation, and our MA in Storyboarding & Previsualisation.  Prospective students who would like to do post-graduate study with us can borrow up to £11,222 in the coming academic year.

One question we often get asked at Escape Studios is what kind of scholarships are available for study.

We have a dedicated scholarship for studying animation; it's the Eamonn Butler scholarship, named after the Head of Animation at Cinesite, who for many years headed up the animation dept at Disney.

Next week on Monday 4th February 2019 we're hosting Film London's Mend the Gap event: a debate on animation training and employment.

There are over 100 university courses in the UK teaching animation, but few of them prepare students with the practical skills they will need to find work in industry. Instead, many courses focus on academic content, writing essays on animation rather than actually doing it.  As a result, many animation studios recruit entry-level talent from European animation schools, not from the UK. What Charities and Trusts Provide Grants for Educational Study?

The system of loans and grants put in place by the UK Government a few years ago for the funding of higher education in the UK is now well-established and well understood.

But lots of potential undergraduate students are not aware of the many other sources of funding that are out there. You'd be surprised how many charities and trusts provide grants for educational study.

These grants vary enormously, and they are often aimed at students from poorer backgrounds or from groups who are less-well represented at university or otherwise disadvantaged.  So, how do you find them, and how do you apply?
