"Spark" Wins "Best Animation" at EE Film Fest

Congratulations to "Spark", the new animated short created at Escape Studios by MA animation student Nimisha Manjunathan, which has won "Best Animation" at the Eastern European Film Festival. 

 "Spark" was written and animated by Nimisha Manjunathan who is studying for her MA in Animation with Escape Studios' animation tutor Lee Caller.  "Spark" tells the story of a girl who dreams of athletic success. 

This is the film's first festival award.

"Sea Of Madness" wins "Best Short" in Florence

Sea Of Madness wins "Best Super Short Film" in Florence 

Congratulations to the makers of Sea Of Madness, which has won "Best Super Short Film" at the Florence Film Awards. 

Sea Of Madness was directed by Maria Freitas  and produced by Ivy Wang.  

Jake Hines was the editor and 2D Lead, and Sebastian McKernan was the 3D Lead.  Ian Chavez Zarate stars as The Pirate.   This is the latest of many festival awards.

"Void" Wins Best Short Award in NYC

"Voidwins Best Super Short Film in NYC
Congratulations to the makers of "Void", which has won Best Super Short Film at the New York Movie Awards.

Void is a short films made by our third year undergraduate animation students at Escape Studios.  

"Void" was directed by Kaya Akinci, edited and produced by Luis Yarroll. This is the latest of many festival awards.

Jake Lee: Short Films, Awards & Festival Success

At last week's EscapeVerse Live event, Jake Lee explained how he achieved short film festival success with his short film "Am I Dreaming?".

Jake explained the need to build a team, in this case a producer, composer, singer and songwriter. Film-makers rarely work alone - you need to build a team of enthusiastic partners to collaborate and deliver the vision.

"Little Pirates" Wins "Best Super Short" Award

"Little Pirates" wins "Best Super Short Film"
Congratulations to the makers of the animated short film "Little Pirates" which has won "Best Super Short Film" at the International Gold Film Festival.

Little Pirates was completed as part of Studio Module PR5001, a collaborative module in which second-year animation students work together on short film projects.  

Little Pirates was written and directed by Anna Reyes Ramirez and produced by Angharad Mathias.  This is the latest of many awards for Little Pirates.

"Shapla" Wins "Best Animation" at the EEFF

"Shapla" wins "Best Animation" at the EEFF
Many congratulations to the makers of "Shapla", which has won "Best Animation" at the Eastern European Film Awards. 

"Shapla" was created by our graduating class of animation students. "Shapla" was directed by Ruksar Rowza Aziz and produced by Charlie Seeviour.  Erica Sanches was the art director and Tom Price composed the original score.  

This is the latest of many festival awards.

Sköll Aurora Wins Award in Florence

Sköll Aurora wins "Best Super Short Film" in Florence
Congratulations to the makers of Sköll Aurora, the animated short film created by our third year graduating class of 2D animation students at Escape Studios, which has won "Best Super Short Film" at the Florence Film Awards. 

Sköll Aurora tells the story of light re-entering a dark and desolate world; it was written and directed by Mahamat Souleymane and produced by Amos Mathias.  This is its third festival award.

Congratulations to the makers of "Keep Cooking", which has won "Best Animation" at the Eastern Europe Film Festival.   Keep Cooking was created by our third year graduating class of 2D Animation students at Escape Studios.  

Keep Cooking was written and directed by Nathan Blackman and produced by Mai Lu.  Chieri Kagata was the Lead Animator, and Gustav Chin was the Art Director.  This is the latest of a number of festival awards.

Cherelle Owusu Screening at Royal Society of Arts

Many congratulations to Escapee Cherelle Owusu whose short film "Flame" will be screened at the Royal Society of Arts on Tuesday, December 16th @ 6pm as part of the Nolly-Oh! Nationwide Tour,  part of the BFI Too Much Melodrama Blockbuster Season.   

Cherelle's short film "Flame" has won multiple festival awards, and in 2020 secured a commercial licensing deal with a major US Airline.   

Cherelle took our MA in 3D Animation at Escape Studios, and joined The Third Floor as a previsualisation artist. Her film credits include The Meg and How To Train Your Dragon.

"AFK" Wins "Best VFX" at Makizhmithran Awards

"AFK" wins "Best VFX" at Makizhmithran Fest  
Congratulations to the makers of the VFX short film "AFK" ("Away From Keyboard"), which has won "Best VFX" at the Makizhmithran Film Festival.  

Directed by “Moses” Tsz Yau Ho, and produced by Emily NewtonAFK tells the story of two video games characters who escape from the screen and do battle in the human world.  Industry Feedback was generously provided by Industrial Light & Magic.  

This is its first festival award.

Introducing "Dusty Memories", the latest short animated film from Escape Studios.  "Dusty Memories" was completed as part of Studio Module PR5001, a collaborative module in which second-year animation students work together on short film projects.  "Dusty Memories" was written and directed by Grace Lam, and edited and produced by Max Ebdon.  Elissa Heath was the Lead Animator.

Introducing "Set in Stone"


Meet "Set in Stone", the latest VFX short film from Escape Studios.  Directed by Derek Joel Eniolu, and produced by Akasha Devlin-Clovering,  "Set in Stone" was a collaboration between undergraduate animation students and VFX students at Escape Studios, working together to create an original story.  Studio projects such as this one form part of The Escape Method; bringing together students with multiple talents to work in teams, responding to industry feedback - in this case from Industrial Light & Magic.

"Mini Mail" Wins "Best 1st Time Director" Award

Congratulations to the makers of the VFX Short film Mini Mail, which has won "Best First Time Director" at the International Gold Awards.

Mini Mail was created by our third year graduating class of VFX students at Escape Studios; it was written and directed by Thomas Greensmith  and produced by Nilufer Refet.  

Asia Gayle  was the 3D VFX lead, and Daniel Beeching was the 2D VFX Lead.  John Oakes-Pearson stars as the delivery guy.  Industry feedback was generously provided by Industrial Light & Magic.  This is its second festival award.
