Many congratulations to Escapee Dave Novis who has recently started work as a Pre-vis Animator at NVIZ Animation, a vfx animation production house based in London and Los Angeles.
Dave worked hard to polish his demo reel, securing his first job in the industry at Lipsync Post, before moving into previsualisation, a growing part of the animation industry.

Dave started his career in animation by taking our animation course back in 2016, and then worked as a studio assistant at Escape Studios, helping to train our growing cohort of animators. After that he joined Lipsync Post as a junior animator, working on the movie "Show Dogs".
We're loving the trailer for Show Dogs, in part because three of our "Escapees" worked on this upcoming feature film, which combines live action with animation. Congratulations to Daniel Baidoo, Will Smith and Dave Novis - who all landed animation jobs on the feature. You can see Daniel Baidoo's work featured in the trailer at the 5 and 46 second mark; that's the giant panda in the cage and the dog rolling over the top of the car. Congratulations to all of them, and especially to Daniel - who is still less than half way through his second year of undergraduate studies, and landed an early internship at Lipsync, which turned into a part-time job.

Escapee Dave Novis, who took our animation short course last summer, joins Escape Studios as a studio assistant this week, getting ready to help out with our next cohort of animation trainees. Dave is an excellent animator who combines a thorough understanding of Maya and the 3D animation tools with a great sense of entertainment and comic timing. Becoming a studio assistant is a great way to start off a career in animation and VFX - our studio assistants all move on to careers in industry. We congratulate Dave on his new job, and welcome him to the Escape Studios team.
