Jerich0, wins "Best Sound Design" at FoF Awards

Many congratulations to the makers of Jerich0, which has won an award for "Best Sound Design" at the Future of Film Awards.

Jerich0 is a short VFX film about a lonely robot who builds a friend.  This is the latest of many awards for the BAFTA-shortlisted Jerich0; directed by Sarah Andrews, and produced by Matt Wight.  

Sound Design was by Aaron Hopwood and the original score was composed by Alexandra Harwood.

 

"Vivi Ossa" Wins Best Micro Short for 2022

Many congratulations to the makers of "Vivi Ossa", which has won the 2022 Annual Award for "Best Micro Short" at the Dreamachine Film Festival.

Directed by Callum Walters and produced by Matthew Wight, Vivi Ossa (Latin for "living bones") is a short film about a museum visitor who brings ancient bones to life through the power of music.  Piraveen Satkunam: was the 3D lead, and Mitchell Searle was the 2D lead.

Vivi Ossa has won many festival awards.

Many congratulations to Escapee Matt Wight, who has recently started  working as a VFX Production Coordinator at The Third Floor in London, one of the UK's leading previsualisation houses.

While at Escape Studios, Matt produced the award-winning short film "Jericho" which was shortlisted for a student BAFTA, was Highly Commended at the Rookies, and won many festival awards.

Matt also produced the short film "Vivi Ossa", which has also won multiple festival awards.

This is the fifth festival award for Vivi Ossa, which has already won "Best One Minute Film" at the Varese Film Festival, Best Microfilm at the Golden Nugget Film Festival, the Zero Budget Film Festival, and a "Special Mention" at the London Seasonal Short Film Festival.

Matt Wight Paint & Roto Artist at Framestore

Many congratulations to Escapee Matt Wight, who has recently found work as a Paint & Roto Artist at London VFX powerhouse Framestore.

Matt is a visual effects artist who, among his many accomplishments at Escape Studios, produced the award-winning short film "Jericho" which was shortlisted for a student BAFTA, was Highly Commended at the Rookies, and has made the official selection for many short festivals around the world.

Jerich0 was a collaboration between visual effects artists and animation students at Escape Studios, working together to produce industry-quality work.

Matt's success is a fine example of what we call the Escape Method; intensive personal tuition in a feedback-rich environment, followed by group project work simulating the environment of a VFX animation studio.
