Our MA (and short course) in Character and Creature Creation is back on 23 September 2024.

This 12 week course in Character & Creature Creation - first launched in September 2021 - is all about designing, modeling, and rigging your own characters, with a view to becoming a Character Artist at a Games, Animation or VFX house.

Our 12 Week Short Course and MA In Compositing returns on 23 September 2024.  Taught by industry experts, this course teaches the art and craft of 2D VFX compositing for the visual effects industry. 

Compositing is the art of combining different images to create a cohesive outcome.  Compositors are always in demand in the VFX industry, with high levels of employment among our 2D VFX Escapees.

Motion Graphics Starts 7 November 2022

Our next Motion Graphics 12 Week Course starts on 7 November 2022.  The course is taught by experienced industry professionals, and aims to prepare students for careers in the motion graphic and motion design industries.

Which is Best? Short Course or MA?

Do you need a degree?

One question we often get asked here at Escape Studios is this: Should I take the Short Course in 3D Animation, or do the Masters' Degree? - Which is Best?

The answer, of course, is that it depends on what you want to do. If you want to be trained to be a 3D animator, and find work in the industry, you don't really need any letters after your name.

But if you have an ambition to teach animation, especially in higher education, then you should do the MA. In addition, MA students have the opportunity to participate in group projects, such as the award-winning short film "Flame". Watch the video below to find out more.

Our newest animation course - three months of intensive training in 2D Animation with Toonboom Harmony - starts on 26th June 2020.

Our new 12 week course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn the art and craft of 2D Animation in Toonboom Harmony, a software package that is increasingly becoming the industry standard for 2D Animation. The course aims to take students to a professional level of skill, making them studio-ready talent.

Our new MA (Master of Arts) in 3D Animation is back, with a new class starting on 17th February 2020.

The MA in animation will be taught at our mid-town campus at 190 High Holborn in central London, and we look forward to welcoming our new cohort of students.

Advanced Animation Starts on 5th July

Advanced Animation is back - starting on 5th July.  Advanced animation is a new course, an extension of the existing 12 week course in animation, and is aimed at students who want to polish and further develop their 3D animation skills.

This 6 week intensive class builds on the lessons learned in the 12 Week Animation Short Course,  developing and enhancing existing skills and making sure that all our students are job-ready by the end of the course.
