Escape Studios Games Animation Reel

We're proud to present our very first Escape Studios' Games Animation Demo Reel, focused on the art and craft of animation for the games industry.  This latest demo reel features the work of Escape Studios students Aaron Hopwood, Christopher Marsden-Carlton, Sebastian Kuder, Molly Babington, Wiktor Brodowska and Conall Ferguson. The video game "Novem" was a group project completed by Erin Harrison, Dutton Daniel, Piraveen Satkunam, Louise Kalyango, Maria Robertson, Callum Walters, Alex Budulan, and James Cooper.  "Novem" was overseen by supervising tutor Amedeo Beretta. The reel was cut by Escapee Miguel Teixera.

This the fourth festival award for "Moon Rockz", which last year won "Best Sci-Fi" at the Flicks Film Festival, and also "Most Witty Animation" at the Animafantasia Film Festival.

Congratulations to the makers of the short film "Moon Rockz", written and directed by Molly Babington, and produced by Stevie Stedman, which has received an Honourable Mention in the category of Best Student Film at the Wild Indie Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival. 

This the third award for "Moon Rockz", which last year won "Best Sci-Fi" at the Flicks Film Festival, and also won "Most Witty Animation" at the Animafantasia Film Festival in 2020.

Many congratulations to Escapee Molly Babington who has started a new position as an Associate Lecturer at the University of the Arts London.

Molly Babington recently graduated from Escape Studios with a Master's Degree in Storyboarding and Previsualisation. 

While at Escape Studios, Molly directed the award-winning short film project "Moon Rockz", which won "Most Witty Animation" at the Animafantasia Film Festival and "Best Sci-Fi" at the Flicks Film Festival.

This the latest award for "Moon Rockz", which recently won "Best Sci-Fi" at the Flicks Film Festival, and has been a finalist in five other film festivals.

"Moon Rockz" is a unique film project at Escape Studios in that this was a collaboration between students on our master's degree in Storyboarding & Previsualisation, MA students studying animation, and also undergraduate students studying the Art of Computer Animation.

Storyboarding is a growing part of what we do at Escape Studios, as we welcome our newest cohort of students on our MA in Storyboarding & Previsualisation.  We have four new videos to share with our students, focusing on the art of storyboarding, character turnarounds, character design and previs.

Meet "Moon Rockz"

"Moon Rockz" is a short film made at Escape Studios, written and directed by Molly Babington, who is studying for her MA in Storyboarding and Previsualisation.

"Moon Rockz" is a unique film project at Escape Studios in that this was a collaboration between students on our master's degree in Storyboarding & Previsualisation and undergraduate students studying the Art of Computer Animation.

The film is a short story about the moon landings - as told from the Moon's point of view. It's a charming and funny film, in which students at Escape Studios successfully worked together across different departments to pull off a stylish result.

"Moon Rockz" is currently being entered into film festivals, and we wish it every success.
