Many congratulations to Escapee Emma Riddell who is working as a Creature TD at DNeg in London.

Emma took our 12 week short course in animation, and from there moved into the technical side of 3D animation, focusing on rigging, fur simulations, and muscle systems. 

The Creature TD role is one that is in big demand, using physics and simulations to drive the animation process.

Many congratulations to Escapee Emma Riddell who is heading to MPC Vancouver to work as a Technical Animator on a six month contract.

Emma has been working on Christopher Robin at Framestore this past year in London, and finished work on Andy Serkis's Mowgli at the end of March. Emma took our short course in animation back in 2016, and from there landed a training contract at Framestore along with fellow Escapee Francesco Nevi.

Many congratulations to Escapees Francesco Nevi and Emma Riddell, who both worked as Creature FX TDs  on Paddington 2. That means, in plain English, doing technical animation - hair, fur, and the interactions with the 3D characters and their environments.

Being a technical animator is a highly skilled job that employs traditional animation skills - and technical skills - as part of the overall 3D pipeline.

Congratulations to both Francesco and Emma, who took our animation short course back in 2016, for launching their careers at one of London's top animation and VFX houses.

Many congratulations to Escapees Francesco Nevi and Emma Thorpe who have just been offered animation FX jobs at Framestore.

Emma and Francesco will be taking part in Framestore's "LaunchPad Pro Creature FX course (CFX)".

An internship at an animation studio is often a necessary first step to entering the industry. An internship gives you real-world experience of the business, will helps you to build contacts and - hopefully - might even lead to a full-time job.

In December last year animation Escapee Emma Thorpe landed an internship with King Bee animation, based at the historic Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, just outside of London.

And, fortunately, that internship has now turned into a job - the best possible outcome of all.
