Many congratulations to Escapee Daniel Lötter who has recently started work as a junior animator at Blue Zoo, one of London's leading animation studios.

Daniel took our degree in 3D animation at Escape Studios, where he put together a strong animation demo reel, and built a LinkedIn profile with embedded links to his demo reel and website. 

Daniel joins Escapees Tim Jones and Jamie Floodgate at Blue Zoo, both of whom studied animation at Escape Studios.

"Offcut": VFX Finalist at The Rookies

While at Escape Studios, Daniel made a significant contribution to a number of animation projects, including working as an animator, Unreal Engine TD and also Pipeline Supervisor on the award-winning animated short "Over Under", which won "Most Fabulous Animation" at the 2020 Animafantasia Film Festival.   

Daniel was also the lead animator on the animated short "Offcut", which has won multiple festival awards, including Best Short at the Arte Non Stop Festival, and was a finalist in the 2020 Rookies.

At Blue Zoo, Daniel will be working in a group of junior animators, under the supervision of experienced animators at Blue Zoo, one of the UK's leading animation studios.

Daniel joins many other Escapees who have joined Blue Zoo in recent years.  These include:

• Tim Jones, Junior Animator at Blue Zoo, January 2021
• Jamie Floodgate: Jamie joined Blue Zoo in August 2019 as a junior animator, having graduated from our 12 week course in animation 
• Storyboard artist Fred O'Rourke, who joined Blue Zoo in July 2018
• Animator Marc Godfrey, who started as an animator at Blue Zoo in 2015

We also have a number of tutors from Blue Zoo who teach at Escape Studios; among them Francesca "Chess" Adams, who teaches our storyboarding evening class, and Jessie Ilham, who teaches our evening class in 2D Animation in Toonboom Harmony.
