Animation Booms Under Lockdown

Lloyd of the Flies
A weekend article in the Daily Telegraph confirms the continuing good news for the animation industry; even under Lockdown, the animation industry continues to thrive and expand.

Aardman Animation, the creators of "Wallace and Gromit", have expanded into digital animation with a new series "Lloyd of the Flies", a 52-episode comedy about a housefly.

Unlike live action shoots, which were shut down due to Covid-19, the animation industry is expanding, as programmers increasingly replace live-action content with animation.

"Quarantine Chorus" - Best Animation
Animation Thrives

The reason, of course, is that animators can and do work alone, from home, just as we are doing now at Escape Studios.  Like other schools and colleges, Escape Studios moved our teaching online in March 2020. What was surprising was how successful the transition was.

Our second year animation students successfully collaborated on a number of group film projects, including Nefertiti, Death From Above, Hotel Aloha, Quarantine Chorus, Moon Rockz, Animal Lover, and Street Ratz and of which won prizes at international film festivals.

Pitching animation
Jerich0 - pitching at APD
For any of our students looking to develop fresh animation content, now is a great time to polish your pitch - and get it out there. Our students don't just learn to animate, they are also creating fresh ideas, creating new characters and telling new stories.
