Learn Unreal Engine for free and get the chance to take a paid work placement with some of the best VFX film and TV studios in the UK. Escape Studios and ScreenSkills are collaborating to help ensure the UK VFX industry gets the talent it needs, trained in the expanding field of real time rendering and production.

This course is completely free - thanks to funding from the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions and the BFI. To apply, follow this link.
Industry Placements
Companies interested in offering placements to Step Up to Unreal attendees currently include: Framestore, Halon Entertainment, Garden Studios, Lux Machina, Dimension Studios, Untold, The Mill and Technicolour.

Last year's "Summer of Unreal" was the largest Unreal Engine training ever attempted across Europe. Escape Studios helped over 1,000 industry professionals to learn the Unreal Engine animation tools.

Unreal Engine in Animation
The games industry has long been used to real-time rendering, but the advantages of the technology are now being rolled out for VFX and animation. The animation department at Escape Studios first began rendering with Unreal Engine in 2018 with the award-winning short Planet Mars, directed by Sebastian Kuder. Unreal Engine 23rd - 27th May 2022
