Billy Allen

Many congratulations to Escapee Billy Allen who is currently working as an animator at Factory 42, a London-based animation studio specialising in augmented reality installations and interactive animation experiences.

Billy studied the Art of Computer Animation at Escape Studios and worked on a number of award-winning projects including Over Under - on which he was lead animator - and also Reach. 

Factory 42 is located in Somerset House on The Strand in London, a short walk from Escape Studios, an innovative start-up with a growing roster of AI and AR projects.

Factory 42 specialises in virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality, creating "unique multi-sensory experiences for broadcasters, brands, destinations and artists."  

Billy joins a number of Escapees at Factory 42, including Maria Robertson, who joined the studio in 2019, and Aidan Lonergan, who started work as a junior rigger in January 2021.

Summer of Unreal

This past summer Billy also took part in our Summer of Unreal event,  a free four-week course in Unreal Engine launched in July 2021, offering training in Unreal Engine for industry professionals. The Summer of Unreal was a free, four-week boot camp created in collaboration with Epic Games, teaching artists practical real-time skills in Unreal Engine. The event was designed and hosted by Escape Studios, the UK’s first (and only) Unreal Authorised Training Center.
