Amedeo Beretta will visit us from Capcom in Osaka 

We're delighted to welcome former Escape Studios' animation tutor Amedeo Beretta, who will join us in Tokyo at Digital Hollywood University on Tuesday 8th September for a talk about his experience living and working at Capcom in Osaka, Japan.

Amedeo Beretta taught animation at Escape Studios from 2018-2022, eventually leaving us to pursue his lifelong dream of working in Japan.  Amedeo currently works as a Cinematic Artist for the video game company Capcom  (creators of Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter) in Osaka.  Twenty one of our animation students are currently in Tokyo learning about anime and manga.

Amedeo Beretta studied at the University of Milan, and later worked in London for Double Negative, Scanline VFX, and Ilion Animation Studios.  Amedeo has worked on many animation and VFX films including Paul, John Carter and Planet 51.

Capcom

Capcom is a Japanese video game company based in Osaka since 1983. It has created a number of critically acclaimed and multi-million-selling game franchises including Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Mega Man, Devil May Cry, Dead Rising, Ace Attorney, Dragon's Dogma, and Marvel vs. Capcom.

The Escapeverse

Amedeo Beretta forms part of what we call "The Escapeverse", or "Escape Studios Universe" - the ecosystem in which we teach, recruit, and work with industry to deliver the highest possible quality of education in the fields of animation, games and visual effects. 

Our tutors at Escape Studios come from industry, ensuring that they understand not just the theory behind their craft but also the practical day-to-day reality of surviving in industry.  Many of our tutors are themselves former Escapees, and many move seamlessly between industry and teaching, continuing to ensure that we remain competitive with the current state of industry technology.
