Chrissy Metge: "Producing for Animators" 9 Jan 2023

Chrissy Metge
We're delighted to welcome back animation & VFX producer Chrissy Metge to teach a class on "Producing for Animators" to our second year undergraduate animators at Escape Studios on Monday 9th January 2023.

Chrissy is an experienced producer, and also creative director at Fuzzy Duckling Media and Duckling Publishing.  She has worked in the animation film and TV industry for 18 years, and has film credits on many movies, including VFX blockbusters The Hobbit, Ironman 3 and Hunger Games 2.

You can see Chrissy's full list of credits at her IMDB page here

Minuet - produced by Maddison Gould
Producing animation
Producing is a vital and often misunderstood part of the production process. Good producers create an environment in which work gets done well and projects get finished on time. Good producers are the artists' best friend - they make projects possible, and make sure the client is happy and comes back for more.  Our students need to learn the nuts and bolts not just of how to create great animation content, but how that content actually gets put together.

Where and When
Chrissy Metge will teach a class on "Producing for Animators" to our second year undergraduate animators at Escape Studios on Monday 9th January 2023. Class takes place in Winterfell and Toontown from 9.30am to 12.30pm

Success Stories
Many of our animation students have gone on to successful producing roles in industry.  Recently,  Katerina Zacharakis and Maddison Gould graduated from Escape Studios this past summer and soon found production roles at Sony Playstation in London, where their experience producing successful award-winning student films such as Planet Mars, Home Sweet Home and Minuet ensured that they had a full understanding of the production process.

Studio Projects
Chrissy will help our students gain an understanding of the production process, and how projects get put together, as we look forward to the animation module PR5001 "Studio Project", in which students collaborate to produce their own films.
