The new books include "Sketching for Animation" by Peter Parr, and a new copy of our most popular textbook (the one book every animator should own) The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams.
These books were donated by Escape Studios' student Sabrina Caspers-Frankel - many thanks to Sabrina for her generous donation to the library.

Cartooning Animation 1
Preston Blair was one of the finest animators from the early days of the Walt Disney Studios. Highlights include his work on Fantasia (1940), animating the Mickey Mouse scenes in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" - and the hippo-alligator dance in the "Dance of the Hours".
The Hero With a Thousand Faces is is a work of comparative mythology by Joseph Campbell, in which the Campbell discusses his theory of the mythological structure of the journey of the archetypal hero found in world myths. This is one of the classic resources on story and storytelling - the source of myths and stories for thousands of years.

The Escape Studios Animation & VFX Library is located on the 11th Floor outside Toontown at 6 Mitre Passage, our new home in North Greenwich, we have many books available to be checked out on animation, games and visual effects.

Two Weeks Maximum
As always, make sure you check the books out in the orange Library Book (see photo on the right), leaving your name, the name of the book checked out, the author's name, your email address, and the date you checked it out. Also don't forget to sign the books back in again so we know they have been returned.
Free to Use
The animation library is free, but please don't keep books for more than two weeks.

We've recently acquired some more new books for the Escape Studios Animation library, where we keep traditional hard copies (ie actual physical books) on the 11th Floor at 6 Mitre Passage.
We've recently acquired some more new books for the Escape Studios Animation library, where we keep traditional hard copies (ie actual physical books) on the 11th Floor at 6 Mitre Passage.
The new books are "Pixar Storytelling" and "Pixar and the Aesthetic Imagination", new titles which will help our 2nd year animators as they start their group film projects.
The Animation Library is located just outside Toontown classroom on the 11th Floor.
The Escape Studios Animation Library (a traditional library, with actual books) is located on the 11th Floor at 6 Mitre Passage, outside Toontown classroom.
All the books are free to borrow and read, but you must sign them out with your name, email address and date in the little Orange Library Book (see image on the right).

There are many useful books in Online Library and the traditional library. We have many physical copies of "The Animator's Survival Kit", and also many titles on development, character and creature animation, independent film finance, acting, and design. Recent additions include a biography of Walt Disney and also books on animating in Maya.
