Giorgos Konstaninou Animator at Peerless VFX

Giorgos Konstaninou
Many congratulations to Escapee Giorgos Konstaninou who has started work at Peerless VFX as a junior animator. Peerless is one of London's longest-established VFX houses, founded by industry legend Terry Gilliam (and former Monty Python member) back in the 1970s.

Giorgos Konstaninou studied the Art of Computer Animation at Escape Studios, and worked on a number of award-winning short film projects.  Most notably, Giorgos directed the multiple-prize-winning short "Papercut", which has enjoyed considerable festival success.

Check out the "Spidey" parkour animation above by Giorgos Konstaninou.  While at Escape Studios, Giorgos worked hard on many animation exercises, continually honing his craft and seeking to improve his skills.  Giorgos' Spidey animation displays a strong grasp of locomotion and mechanics, as well as cinematography, graphic design, sound design and comic timing.

While at Escape Studios, Giorgos directed the award-winning short film "Papercut", which was completed as part of the VFX Project, in which VFX and animation students come together to work on a group project, designed to simulate as closely as possible a real animation studio production.  In early 2022 Giorgos also contributed to the award-winning short film "Explosive Love" as editor and animator.

Rookie of The Year
Also in 2022 Giorgos Konstaninou was ranked in the annual "Rookie of the Year" Competition, in the category of 3D Animation at the 2022 Rookies.  The Rookies are an important showcase for international animation talent and we recommend that all our students enter.   Giorgos is currently in his third year of studies at Escape Studios, studying for his BA in the Art of Computer Animation
