Sky Academy and Hiive Offer Arts Scholarships For Young Talent

Hiive
Sky Academy Arts Scholarships, running in partnership with Hiive, are offering financial support and mentoring for five talented young artists (including animators!) aged 18-30 from across the UK and Ireland.

If you've every wanted to do a personal arts project, but lack the funding to make it happen - this might be for you.

The aim of the scholarships is to "give young people the time, space and money they need to develop their creative practice and unlock their potential".

What's this all about?
Each artist will receive £30,000/€40,000 towards the development of an artistic project and the cost of living for one year, along with mentoring from senior Sky staff and professionals from the arts industry.

What else do you get?
Non-financial benefits include mentoring from senior Sky staff and a senior individual from the arts industry, support from a dedicated artist manager, wider development support from Sky (marketing, budgeting, PR etc) and a short film about your project and practice.

What is the deadline?
The deadline for applications is 10 March 2016 at 5pm.

How many scholarships are there?
Four scholarships will be awarded to artists from the UK and one scholarship will be awarded to an artist living in Ireland.

Here at Escape Studios we encourage all our students, (in this case, those in the UK and Ireland) to apply for scholarships and competitions. You might not win, but the experience you get will help you raise your game, and have more chance of winning the next time.

The scholarships are open to any of our undergraduate, post-graduate and short course students.

The Escape Studios Animation Blog offers a personal view on the art of animation and visual effects. To find out more about our new BA/MArt starting in September 2016, follow this link.   To apply, visit the offical page here.
