Open Doors Event With Creative Skillset At Escape Studios

Open Doors with Creative Skillset. From left: Andy Brassington, Simon Fenton, Davi Stein and me
Last week Escape Studios hosted an “open doors” event with Creative Skillset – the UK body that supports the creative industries and helps get students the right kind of training. Skillset has an excellent relationship with Escape Studios because we specialise in preparing our students for industry, getting them the right skills, making them employable and job-ready.  Open Doors was an opportunity for aspiring animators and VFX artists to hear from our panel of experts about careers in industry, and also do some networking afterwards. Best of all, there was free pizza.

On the panel were myself (animation), Andy Brassington (student outreach), Davi Stein (compositing), and Simon Fenton (games).

The evening was a great opportunity to talk about some of the latest trends in the animation and VFX industries, and to help steer students towards to new opportunities. Our industry is increasingly driven by technology, and it’s more important than ever for students to have the right skills when they graduate.

Don't forget - free pizza!
Here at Escape Studios we’re delighted to partner with Creative Skillset and support their efforts to reach out to students from all sorts of backgrounds, especially those who come from families who might not have considered a career in the creative industries.

The evening was a great success, and for anyone who missed it, keep an eye on our official site for similar events. We also offer free webinars, taster days (priced at just £25), and many Open Days and Experience Days.

Come along and see what we do. We'll be glad to meet you, and show you what animation, games and visual effects is all about.
