Life Drawing for Escape Animation Students at DNEG

Our 2D Animation undergraduate students will soon be attending life drawing classes at DNEG, one of the UK's leading animation & VFX houses, courtesy of DNEG's Andrew Schlussel and Dara McGarry.
Weekly Life Drawing at DNEG
Room 313
Our students have been invited to attend weekly Life Drawing at DNEG from 12pm to 2pm on Thursdays.   Life drawing remains an important skill for our animators and storyboard artists. An understanding of human anatomy, and the ability to capture a pose or gesture in a few lines, is still a key skill - even in a digital world.

Fast sketches are especially useful, helping animators to make quick thumbnails to plan animation - a technique which hasn't changed since Disney's Golden Age.

Where and when
Life Drawing at DNEG takes place from 12pm to 2pm on Thursdays at DNEG's Central London studio at 160 Great Portland St, London W1W 5QA.

How to Sign Up
The life drawing class is limited to our currently enrolled 2D animation students. If you would like to attend, email Will Hughes will.hughes@escapestudios.com

Life Drawing Still Matters
An understanding of human anatomy, and the ability to capture a pose or gesture in a few lines, is still an important skill - even in a digital world.

Animators in particular benefit from being able to do quick "thumbnail" sketches, helping to plan animation efficiently in advance. We strongly recommend that our students take advantage of classes like this one.
