Our 2D animation programmes have been running Toonboom Harmony as our principal animation platform, but we've decided to go for broke and add TV Paint as well. So, from the start of this academic year (2025), our animation students will have a choice of 2D animation platforms to work on. Plus, we've secured a special deal for our students to get themselves a license for home use if they need the extra flexibility.
Why TVPaint?
TV Paint is one of the world’s leading 2D animation packages, widely used in feature films, television, and commercials.

Traditional Animation
Unlike vector-based tools, TV Paint is bitmap-based, which means it feels closer to traditional hand-drawn animation — perfect for artists who want to bring a classical touch to digital work. Many traditional animators who used to work with pencil and paper now work with TV Paint.
What This Means for Our Students
As with everything we do at Escape Studios, it means industry-standard training. Many professional 2D animation studios rely on TV Paint. By learning it here, our students are preparing themselves for the workflows they will encounter in the workplace.
Industry Standard Tools
At Escape Studios, we are committed to ensuring our students have access to the very best tools in the industry. Adding TVPaint to our curriculum is another step in helping our graduates stand out in a competitive marketplace.
