Duncan Guymer Studio Assistant at Escape

Duncan Guymer - Studio Assistant at Escape Studios
Many congratulations to Escapee Duncan Guymer, who has recently started work at Escape Studios as a Studio Assistant, helping to support the teaching of our student animators.

Duncan took our evening class in 3D animation, and learned so quickly that we brought him on board as a studio assistant, helping to teach our short course animation students.

The secret of Duncan's success? Plenty of practice, and in particular effective use of our online resources, especially the Vimeo channel to which all our students and Escapees have access.

Commercials director
Duncan also brings his considerable experience as a commercials director, having directed many advertisments - including this one for garden equipment below. Duncan has a solid understanding of visual narrative, storytelling, shot continuity and cinematography, all of which are important parts of the animator's toolkit.

Duncan Guymer - No 12 in Eleven Second Club
Duncan's animation "Roadkill" placed in the top twelve in the October 11 Second Club; a very respectable showing in a competition in which hundreds of animators around the world take part; many of whom are professionals working in the field.

Evening class in 3D Animation
Duncan took our evening class in 3D animation, taught by Kevin Richards. Duncan's animation improved rapidly during the course of the evening class, in part because of his very effective use of our online resources, in particular the Vimeo channel to which all our students and Escapees have access.

Studio Assistant
Duncan joins our team as a studio assistant, helping the animators taking our 12 week short course and MA animation course to progress in their work, helping to solve technical problems and also offer practical advice on animation techniques.
