What makes Escape Studios state-of-the-art? We pride ourselves on having the latest hardware and software for our undergraduate degrees, postgraduate degrees and short courses.

At Escape Studios, our workstations use HP Z640 / Z6 models with dual Xeon processors, Quadro class graphics and 32GB of memory.

Workstations
Each workstation is capable of being used in Windows or Linux (VFX industry standard which has some other advantages in terms of applications deployment). This is the same class of kit used in industry.

Computer Monitors
It's important for digital artists to have consistent and realistic colors on their computer displays.

At Escape Studios, we use EIZO ColorEdge CG277 monitors. With 99% Adobe RGB color space coverage, 10-bit simultaneous display, hardware calibration, this self-calibrating monitor is built to deliver optimal performance.

Wacom Tablets
We also have industry standard Wacom tablets that can be used as a full replacement for a mouse. The tablet is used to achieve a more natural, artistic feel for tasks such as painting, sculpting or texturing, or anything that needs pressure sensitivity. Using a graphic tablet is as easy and as comfortable as using a pen, pencil or airbrush, and avoids the repetitive clicks and potential health problems associated with long-term use of a mouse.

Oculus VR headsets
Students on our BA (Hons) The Art of Video Games, will likely get the chance to work on a VR project using Oculus VR headsets. These headsets will usually have a gaming class Geforce graphics card.

Studios
We have 7 large studios for all undergraduate students, and 5 smaller studios for postgraduate and short course students. These studios are currently open from 8am - 10pm on weekdays and from 10am - 6pm on weekends.
