Michael Morgan Teaches Character Animation

Michael Morgan visits Escape Studios
Last week our second year undergraduate students welcome another Guest Tutor, the very talented Michael Morgan, whose work includes Guardians of the Galaxy, Beauty and the Beast, and also the recent much-anticipated release Black Panther.

Michael gave the class a number of insights into his personal Character Animation process, including the importance of filming your own live action reference and acting out your own shots.

Michael also studied the workflow of the classic Disney Animators and showed the class how their methods can still be applied today.

Michael will be coming back to Escape Studios at the end of February (Feb 28, March 1st, March 2nd) to teach our short course animators at Shepherd's Bush, helping them to develop their acting skills and perfect their work as character animators.

To see more about Michael's work and how he approached the character animation process, read this post.

The Escape Studios Animation Blog offers a personal view on the art of animation and visual effects. To find out more about our new BA/MArt, now recruiting for September 2018, follow this link.   To apply, visit the official page here
