VFX Festival 2018 - Who's Coming?

The countdown to Escape Studios' 2018 VFX Festival is on.  As in previous years, we've got some great speakers coming to talk about the latest developments in Animation, Games and VFX.

Below are some of the VFX, games and animation companies we're welcoming in February.

Framestore on "Thor: Ragnarok"
Fire Without Smoke's director & VFX Supervisor Hugo Guerra, will be presenting on the making of "The Walking Dead March to War".

Stuart Penn, MPC's VFX team lead who worked alongside Director Ridley Scott, will be taking us through the anatomy of an alien, from their work on Alien: Covenant.

Framestore will be presenting their work on "Thor: Ragnarok", and we also welcome back MPC, Cinesite, Double Negative and Blue Zoo.

The Mill will be presenting their 2017 Christmas advertising campaign for John Lewis: Moz the Monster.

Games company Climax Studios will talk about Augmented and Virtual Reality in a talk titled "Designing Reality".

Games company Creative Assembly will be presenting a talk titled 'Magic for Massive Battles in TW: Warhammer II.'

Rewind will be presenting "VFX to VR - Ghost In The Shell".

Why come to the VFX Festival?
Because there is no better way to find out about the latest trends in our industry, who is hiring, and what skills are in demand.  We strongly encourage all our current, past and future students to attend. Come and find out what the future holds for our industry.

Where and when is the VFX Festival?
The 2018 VFX Festival will run in association with arts and cultural hub, Rich Mix in Shoreditch, from 6th - 8th February 2018.

What's on display?
Spanning four floors over two days, the festival will feature three dedicated exhibition hubs, covering Education, Technology and Industry. The schedule will be packed with a series of leading industry talks and showcases from across the VFX, Animation, Games and Motion Graphics sectors.  VFX is a constantly changing landscape. Last year's "big thing" is this year's old news. So come along, and find out about the latest trends in our industry.

Where is it?
Rich Mix in Shoreditch, 35 - 47 Bethnal Green Road, London E1 6LA. Nearest overground train station is Shoreditch High St.  Nearest Tube is Liverpool St - a 12 minute walk.

Recruiters
For many Escapees and recent graduates, the most important part of the Festival is probably the recruiters, who come from all the big VFX houses hunting for talent. If you'd like to meet in person the people who could help you get a job (and why wouldn't you?) - this is the place to be.

Where can you book tickets?
Tickets are on sale at the EventBrite page here.
