3D Artwork by Cameron Tempest-Hay

Pikachu by Cameron Tempest-Hay
Check out the excellent online portfolio of one of our talented first year students, Cameron Tempest-Hay.

Cameron has got a head start on his studies here at Escape Studios by modeling all sorts of characters and creatures, including the charming Pikachu on the left, and Clank, shown below.

And why not? Nowadays there are all kinds of online resources available to get started on your digital studies, long before you start at university.

Autodesk, the company that makes Maya, the principal software used in 3D animation, grants free licenses for student learners

And there are plenty of places to learn 3D animation online. For example, we recommend Mike Hermes' excellent site at YouTube, with plenty of short, clear and simple tutorials.

If you're thinking of applying to study with us, we recommend downloading some software and doing a few online tutorials on your own time. It's a great way to find out if a career in the digital creative industries is for you.

Cameron's excellent artwork is an inspiration to all our students.

The Escape Studios Animation Blog offers a personal view on the art of animation and visual effects. To find out more about our new BA/MArt, now recruiting for September 2017, follow this link.   To apply, visit the official page here.
