Aardman Workshop at the Cartoon Museum 1 April

Aardman Animation Model-making Workshop on 1 April
The Cartoon Museum in Fitzrovia is hosting an Aardman Animation model-making workshop on April 1st, demonstrating how to make your very own "Sean the Sheep" plasticene model.

For animation students at Escape Studios this is a rare opportunity to engage with the stop-motion pipeline, learning to make a physical maquette suitable for animation.

Get yourself a tripod and a smart phone - now you're ready to animate.  You can sign up for the workshop here - it costs just £18.86

Stop Motion Animation
The skills that make a great stop-motion animator are very similar to the skills that make a great 3D animator. Whether you are working with clay or pixels, an animator still has to give an entertaining performance.

Aardman Animation
Here are Escape Studios we're fans of Aardman and their work.  Aardman have been Industry Mentors for our short course in 3D animation, helping animators such as Rich Jeffrey (director, Bluey) build a career in the industry.

Sean The Sheep
Aardman make excellent films, and the UK is lucky to have such a talented studio making consistently excellent films, such as their movie "Sean the Sheep - Farmageddon"

On a personal note, Aardman gave my father studio space at their studio for over ten years, a decade which was undoubtedly among the happiest and most fulfilling of his professional life.

You can read a tribute to him by Aardman's Peter Lord, here.

The Escape Studios Animation Blog offers a personal view on the art of animation and visual effects.
