Industry Feedback with Ben Leyland Feb 27th

Ben Leyland
Tomorrow Thursday February 27th our second year animators will get some industry feedback on their projects from Eallin Animation MD Ben Leyland, who has kindly agreed to visit us at Escape and take a look at our short film projects.

Ben is the Managing Director & Executive Producer at Eallin London, an animation and mixed media production company based in London, Prague, Bratislava and Tokyo.

Industry feedback is at the heart of what we do at Escape Studios; it helps our students to connect with the commercial world and make sure we're teaching industry-relevant skills.

Eallin animation
Ben is the Managing Director & Executive Producer at Eallin London, an animation and mixed media production company based in London, Prague, Bratislava and Tokyo.   Ben started his career at Prime Focus working as a compositor and an animator. Later he moved to Golden Square Post Production, where he was made a partner, and opened a studio in Shanghai in 2005.

Eallin Animation
Eallin Animation is an international animation and mixed media production company with offices in London, Tokyo and Prague (the work "Eallin" means "bring to life" in the language of the Sápmi tribes of Northern Europe).  Eallin work with animators, designers and directors all around the world, crafting projects from commercials to short films, embracing a spectrum of styles and animation techniques – from the traditional to the very cutting edge.

Studio Project Module PR5001
Ben has kindly agreed to give up a morning of his time to take a look at our second year animation projects, part of the "Studio Project" Module PR5001, a 2nd year film-making module worth 45 credits, in which our students form themselves into groups and create short animated films, working to a variety of creative briefs.

Industry feedback
Here at Escape Studios we also host regular industry feedback sessions, where students can get feedback from industry guests.  Industry feedback forms one of the five pillars of "The Escape Method", and is important because it helps to keep us grounded in the real world of the animation industry, reminding us of what animators will be expected to do when they are facing actual clients.

Getting feedback for our students from industry is very much at the heart of what we do at Escape Studios, and there is no better way to get our students up to industry standard than to bring in professionals to critique their work.
