Find Your Future on 9 August 2017

Want a career in creative media, but not sure what route to travel? Get yourself to "Find Your Future 2017", right here in London on 9 August.

If you're interested in working in the creative industries, then Find Your Future is the careers event for you.

Best of all, it's completely free!
What's Find Your Future All About?
BECTU, the media & entertainment union, and Westminster Kingsway College are hosting this event at the King's Cross Centre to showcase the apprenticeship and trainee opportunities on offer from a host of employers across the media and entertainment sectors.

Who is it for?
The event is aimed at 16-24 year olds who are not (yet) pursuing higher education, and who are interested in finding out more about the opportunities on offer in the creative industries. Anyone wishing to pursue apprenticeship or trainee routes, also teachers and parents will also be very welcome.

Who's coming?
Employers and speakers include repreentatives from Visual Effects powerhouses Double Negative, Framestore and the Mill.

The talk we're most excited to attend is at 11am, titled "Is An Apprenticeship Right For Me?" Amy Smith from Framestore & Escapee Garreth Gaydon from The Mill will offer an overview of the VFX apprenticeship opportunities. What do they look for in an apprentice? How does recruitment work? And what should you expect from the scheme?

As always, we recommed that our students get to know the recruiters at the big London VFX houses and animation studios. Ask questions, introuduce yourself, and get some advice on how to break into the industry.
