Planet Mars Wins Best Cinematography

Planet Mars wins Best Cinematography at Halicarnassus
Congratulations to the creators of the animated short mockumentary  "Planet Mars", which has won another festival award - Best Cinematography at the Halicarnassus Film Festival.  

Directed by Escapee Sebastian Kuder, and produced by Katerina Zacharakis, Planet Mars was a Studio Project completed by second year animation students at Escape Studios.

Planet Mars
Planet Mars is an animated mockumentary which tells the story of what really happened to life on Mars.  It was directed by Sebastian Kuder and produced by Katerina Zacharakis. You can watch the short film below.


 

Planet Mars was completed as part of the second year of animation studies at Escape Studios.in Module PR5001, a Studio Project Module in which students collaborate to produce a short film.  

Industry Mentoring from Framestore
Planet Mars was mentored by London VFX powerhouse Framestore, who gave up 6 successive Fridays to come in to our classroom and offer feedback and notes to our students. Many thanks to Framestore, and in particular to Head of Global Talent Andrew Schlussel and Lead Animator Oz Gani for their tireless support.

Animation was completed in Maya, rendering was done in Unreal Engine. You can see the project here at The Rookies.

Festival Success
Planet Mars has already received an Honourable Mention for Best Cinematography at the London International Monthly Film Festival.
