|Kevin Richards at Escape Studios|
The class runs for 10 weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 7-10pm.
The class, which is an introduction to the art and craft of 3D character animation, is taught by veteran animator and Escapee Kevin Richards.
Animation Foundation starts with the very basics - a bouncing ball - and builds towards a full understanding of locomotion and mechanics in 3D animation.
3D Animation Foundation is a part-time evening class, running for 8 weeks from 7-10 pm at our High Holborn campus. The class will run two nights a week, Mondays and Wednesdays.
|Shane the Chef|
Kevin Richards will be teaching the evening class. Kevin is a traditional 2D animator who took our short course in animation at Escape Studios, and successfully made the transition to 3D animation in Maya.
Most recently Kevin has been working as an animator on the "Shane the Chef" TV Series at Cloth Cat Animation in Cardiff.
Kevin gets great feedback from our students. One typical comment from a recent class was: "Kevin was really encouraging and provided a lot of inspiration. I really liked how he wouldn't let anyone get left behind".
To see the 3D work that helped Kevin get the job on Cloth Cat, watch his reel below.
Kevin brings his experience with TV animation to our classrooms, helping animators to work fast and efficiently. TV series work involves relentless deadlines, and animators need to perfect a fast and reliable workflow in order to get through the workload. Studios like Blue Zoo and Cloth Cat are all on the lookout for talent, but speed and efficiency are paramount.
