Rebecca Perrone 2D Animation Programme Leader

We're delighted to congratulation veteran animator Rebecca Perrone who has been promoted to 2D Animation Programme Leader at Escape Studios.  

Rebecca Perrone is an experienced 2D animator who has been teaching our "Level Six" 2D animation students in their third and final year of undergraduate studies at Escape Studios.

From Sept 2026 Rebecca Perrone 

will teach our Second Year Animation Students the art of 2D Animation. 

What Does a Programme Leader Do?

The Animation Programme Leader at Escape Studios lead on the content and delivery of the undergraduate animation programme at Escape Studios.  Their responsibilities include:

• Development and enhancement of content and learning 
• Preparing the Annual Programme Monitoring Report (APMRs) 
• Monitor actions from previous APMRs to ensure continuous enhancement

Rebecca Perrone

Rebecca Perrone is an accomplished animation artist whose screen credits include Mog's Christmas and the acclaimed TV Series Love Death and Robots - on which Rebecca was a lead animator.  2D animation is a large and growing part of the animation pipeline at Escape Studios.

2D Animation Revival

In recent years 2D Animation has experienced a significant revival, both in the UK and overseas, as Studios such as Blue Zoo, Aardman Animation, and Brown Bag Films adopt new software such as ToonBoom Harmony.  The UK has the second most animation studios in the world, behind the United States, supported by a 39% government tax credit.
