Happy New Year From Escape Studios

Happy New Year to all our students and staff at Escape Studios. 2026 will bring new challenges - but also new opportunities.  Like last year, AI continues to be the big talking point in our industry.  Will AI replace human jobs, or will it sit alongside our workflow as part of the digital artists' toolkit?

Only time will tell, but in the meantime the wise artist should be experimenting with the new tools, such as ChatGPT, OpenAI and MidJourney.  Test them out, experiment with them, and see what AI can do - and what it can't.

Happy New Year - Here's To 2025

Happy 2024
Happy New Year to all our students and staff at Escape Studios, friends and Escapees.  2025 brings new opportunities as the animation and VFX industries continue to thrive, with new government-led incentives like the 39% tax credit.

This year, top of our list of New Year's Resolutions, is to experiment with the new AI tools, such as ChatGPT, OpenAI and MidJourney.  AI is changing the face of the animation and vfx industries, offering fresh challenges - but also new opportunities.

Nine New Year's Resolutions for Animators

Happy 2020
Happy New Year to all our students past, present and future. The New Year brings new challenges and - with the animation industry in London continuing to boom - many new opportunities as well.

The industry doesn't stand still, and animators need to maintain their edge so as not to be left behind by technological change. Even the recent resurgence of 2D animation (have you seen Klaus yet?) will only benefit those who are learning new technology, such as Toonboom Harmony.

It's clear then that a few New Year's resolutions may be in order to keep us all on our toes.

So what should an animator's new year's resolutions be? Below are our suggestions to maintain your competitive edge in 2020.

Happy New Year from Escape Studios!

WIP Fight Sequence 2019 from Simone Giampaolo on Vimeo.

Happy New Year from Escape Studios and from our newest animation tutor, Simone Giampaolo, who is clearly so awesomely talented that he was able to knock out this animated tribute to 2019 in about 10 minutes, with his left hand, while fixing dinner and also calling his Mum (well, I exaggerate a little).  Simone has recently been teaching animation to our Short Course students and, starting on Monday 7th January, he will be teaching the Advanced Animation and Master's students the secrets of character acting and performance. Happy New Year to all our students; may it bring success and prosperity to us all.
