Kiwi's Dream wins Best Micro Short at Golden Nugget

Congratulations to the makers of "Kiwi's Dream", which has won Best Micro Short at the Golden Nugget International Film Festival. 

Directed by Paloma Zhu and produced by Daniel Rowe, Kiwi's Dream was based on an original concept by Freddie Belsom about an origami kiwi who dreams of flying in the clouds. It has won many festival awards.

Planet Mars Best Cinematography at Golden Nugget Fest

Congratulations to the creators of the animated short mockumentary  "Planet Mars", which has won another festival award - Best Cinematography at the Golden Nugget International Film Festival.  

Directed by Escapee Sebastian Kuder, and produced by Katerina Zacharakis, Planet Mars was a Studio Project completed by second year animation students at Escape Studios. It has won many festival awards.

Candle Wick Best Micro Film at Golden Nugget

Many congratulations to the directors of "Candle Wick", a short animated film created by our second-year animation students at Escape Studios, which has won "Best Micro Film" at the Golden Nugget Film Festival. 

"Candle Wick" is a short story about a candle living inside the walls of an old house, who must venture outside to save his home.

"Candle Wick" was directed by Oliver Gallagher, co-directed by Shauna Ludgate, and produced by Emmanouil "Manos" Zervoudakis.  Art direction was by Tsvetelina Kumanova. 

Amarok "Best Trailer" at Golden Nugget Fest

Congratulations to the makers of "Amarok", which has won "Best Trailer" at the Golden Nugget Film Festival. 

Amarok was written and directed by Shenaaz Suliman, co-written by Simone Fraser, produced by Josiah Martin-Lofters, and edited by Cameron Haley.  

Amarok is a trailer for a web series about a First Nations police detective in a remote town in Northern Canada; a curfew is imposed as a killer wolf hunts for prey.

Amarok has won multiple festival awards, including Best Trailer at the Vesuvius Film Festival and Best Trailer at the Art Film Awards.

BoxBots Best Animation at Golden Nugget Fest

"BoxBots" wins Best Animation at Golden Nugget Fest

Many congratulations to the makers of "BoxBots", which has won its fourth festival award - Best Animation at the Golden Nugget Film Festival in London. 

Directed by Jordan Coles and Ross Green, and produced by Priya Shah, "BoxBots" is about a contest between two toys who compete for the "World Plasticweight Championship".

Congratulations to the makers of "Little Gestures", which has won its fourth festival award: "Best Student Director" at the Golden Nugget Film Festival. 

"Little Gestures" is a short story about an artist's maquette which comes to life.  The film was directed by Richard O'Hanlon and Daniel Brand-Sinyinza, and produced by Nickoel Izharudin and Dominic Strachan.

"Draw": "Best Microfilm" at the Golden Nugget Festival

Escape Studios is proud to announce that the short film "Draw", directed by Martin Kamminga, has won "Best Micro Film" at the Golden Nugget Film Fest in London.

This latest award comes on top of a series of wins for  "Draw", including "Best Fight Choreography" at the Flicks Film Festival, "Highest Commendation" at the London Seasonal Short Film Festival in May, and a "Four Stars Award" at the British International Amateur Film Festival.  "Draw" was completed as part of the third year animation Module PR6001, a Studio Project worth 60 Credits. 

Escapees Win at Golden Nugget Fest March 19

The Golden Nugget Film Festival "London Edition" is back, with many Escapees and current students among the award-winning films. The festival takes place on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 8 PM – 11:30 PM in the Dreadnought Building, 30 Park Row Greenwich, London, SE10 9LS.

Our short films that have made the cut this year include "Reece", "Flame", "Adam & Eve Mk II", "Vivi Ossa", and "Jerich0". Of these films, Jerich0 will be collecting an award for Best Animated Short, Adam & Eve Mk II will be getting an award for "Best Sci-Fi", and "Vivi Ossa" will be presented an award for Best Micro Film.  Congratulations to all our talented film-makers on their continued success.

Escapees Win at the Golden Nugget Film Fest

Many congratulations to our student animators and Escapees - three of our short films received awards at the recent Golden Nugget Film Festival in Leeds on December 3rd.  

Adam & Eve Mk II won "Best Sci-Fi", Vivi Ossa won "Best Microfilm", and Jericho won "Best Animation".

Many congratulations to our student animators - our short films The Good Old Days,  Home Sweet Home, Jericho, Flame, Vivi Ossa, Adam & Eve Mk II and Reece have all been selected for the Golden Nugget Film Festival. 

The festival takes place in Leeds on Tuesday 3rd December 2019, and you can buy tickets here.

We're delighted to have no less than seven student films in the competition, and we're encouraging our students to attend, vote in the audience award, and offer applause and support. 

Golden Acorn Wins Best Teaser/Trailer

Many congratulations to the makers of "The Golden Acorn", which has just won the Best Teaser/Trailer at last night's Golden Nugget International Film Festival. Congratulations also to the makers of Minuet, which won best animation. Both films are now listed at the Golden Nugget official site.

At just under 6 minutes, Minuet is our most ambitious film to date at Escape Studios, completed by our recent animation graduates.

"The Golden Acorn" is a movie trailer completed by 2nd year undergraduate Escape Studios Animation students, as part of their Studio Project module.
