Last week our latest graduating class of animators went to visit Blue Zoo, one of London's leading animation studios, for a critique of their work. Blue Zoo supplied us with one of their in-house character rigs and also a line of dialogue, giving our animators the chance to get stuck into some broad, cartoony animation of the type that Blue Zoo specialise in. We got some great feedback from Studio Head Tom Box and animation director Simone Giampaolo, who gave up a morning of their time to help our animators hone their skills. Many thanks to Blue Zoo for their generous help in getting our Escapees to get the industry-level feedback and skills they need.
Blue Zoo take the business of industry outreach very seriously, and have been regular guests at our VFX Festival for the last three years. To find out more about what they do, see this post on how they stay creative. You can also read about what the challenges are of running an animation studio, and how they put together QPootle 5, one of their animated TV Series.
The Escape Studios Animation Blog offers a personal view on the art of animation and visual effects. To find out more about our new BA/MArt, now recruiting for September 2017, follow this link. To apply, visit the official page here.
