Here at Escape Studios we encourage all of our students to enter The Rookies Awards, the international competition for young creatives.
The Rookies was founded in 2009 to "showcase the most talented student designers, illustrators, film makers, animators, developers, digital artists, and launch them into the career of their dreams."
How do the Rookies work?
Eligible students can create an entry page and submit their details. It's a great opportunity for students to showcase their work and get exposure in the industry. Students set up a page and use it to showcase their best work - this can be both as a team (say, on a group project) and also individual work.
What about professional work?
No, professional client-facing work should not be included.
What is the deadline to enter?
May 29th
What sort of thing should go on a student page?
Students should treat their entry page as something they would show a recruiter when applying for a job. It should include a small bio about them, examples of their work, and work history (if any).
How do awards get made?
The Rookies judges will review student work and make awards.
Can it lead to a job?
Yes, the Rookies has a number of recruitment partners who promote student work and help students find jobs.
