Glen Keane is Coming to London!

Glen Keane
Legendary Disney animator (Pocahontas, Rapunzel), Glen Keane is coming to London! Glen will be here tomorrow, Friday May 19, to talk about the "Principles of UX Choreography", a new piece of tech described as "a new paradigm", developed by Glen and by Rebecca Ussai of R/GA.

So, what can animators and fans of Glen's work expect to learn from this event?

What is this event about?
Glen is in London to present UX Choreography, which, according to its creators, is "a new paradigm developed by Rebecca Ussai of R/GA and Legendary Animator, Glen Keane. Influenced by Disney’s Twelve Principles of Animation and the most important communication points of user experience design, UX Choreography helps designers think about how to design with motion in order to craft experiences that are more intuitive, realistic, emotional, and enjoyable."

What will happen during the talk?
Rebecca and Glen will illustrate the principles of UX Choreography and "help the audience find a deeper story in all of their work".

Where and when?
Fri 20 May, 2016, 10:15am, at the Trinity Laban site in East London.  Postcode SE8 3DW.

How do you get there?
The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Cutty Sark station - and then a 15 minute walk to the Laban building. At Cutty Sark turn right out of the station and right again on to Creek Road. Take the second left after the bridge, Creekside and the Laban building is on your left.

On a personal note, working alongside Glen on the Disney feature film "Pocahontas" back in the mid 1990s was one of the highlights of my career as an animator.  I learned a great deal from him on that film, especially about the process of making animation; how to develop a reliable work method that would produce consistently good results.  Glen is one of the giants of our medium and he is also a great teacher.  The notes I scribbled down way back then still forms the basis of material I continue to use in the classroom today.
