Time to Pitch! |
This pitch presentation is where our students first present their idea for their chosen specialism. What part of the animation pipeline do they wish to focus on? Character animation? Creature animation? Storyboarding? Producing Animation? Now is the time to choose.

Character animation by Eilin Berio Pena |
Animation Specialism is the third animation module in the 2020-21 academic year. In this self-study module, students to explore a subject specialism of their own choice.
This could
be character animation or creature animation, or even a related
discipline such as storyboarding or character design.
CR5001 is a very varied module, as we bring in guest tutors to deliver specialist areas of teaching, allowing students to push their creative skills and explore a wide range of creative choices.

Four Minute Pitch
Class will take place at Blackboard in the usual online classroom, at 1.30pm. Each student will have four minutes to make their pitch, then two more minutes to take questions, and get feedback.
Four minutes may not sound like much time, but one of the key skills our students must learn is how to make a brief, succinct and persuasive pitch, just like in industry.
Materials
Students should show some images connected to their chosen specialism, and give an idea of the final deliverable will be. Is it interesting? Is it creative? Does it give a performance that will excite the audience's interest? Remember to ask the "Why" of what you are doing, and not just the "how".
Where and when
Thursday 21st Jan from 1.30pm to 4.30pm at Blackboard; the usual login.
What is Your Specialism?
We anticipate that most
students will likely wish to specialise in character or creature animation, perhaps entering the 11 Second Club Competition, or choosing a line of dialogue to animate.
