How The Simpsons Predicted President Trump
Why read the news when you can watch animation? Specifically, The Simpsons, back in 2000, when in a now infamous episode titled “Bart to the Future,” the long-running animated TV series predicted that Donald Trump would one day become president of the United States of America. Simpsons writer Dan Greaney recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the thought of a Trump presidency "just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom. It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane".
So there you have it. The Simpsons is not just great entertainment - it's a vision of the future. Which leaves us to wonder what is playing on today's episodes that - fantastic as it might seem - will come true in 2032.
