"Stop Motion Effect" Animation Tutorial in Maya

"Stop Motion Effect" Tutorial at YouTube
In this new animation tutorial students learn how to produce a "Stop Motion Effect" in Maya with undergraduate Programme Leader Marc Stevenson.

Marc's tutorial, hosted at his Animation YouTube Channel, explains how to take a piece of digital animation created in Maya and simulate the look and feel of traditional hand-made stop motion animation

Stop-Motion
Stop Motion is a traditional animation technique which includes inherent mistakes, bumps and glitches - such as small errors in timing (or even thumb prints on plasticene) which can be hard to eradicate in a traditional stop motion pipeline.  Marc Stevenson's video shows how to take the smoothness of digital animation and bring back some of the analogue texture that gives stop motion animation its unique flavour.
