Michael Davies |
Michael has worked on many VFX blockbusters such as Batman vs Superman, Doctor Strange and Thor Ragnarok.
He also rigged Smaug (The Hobbit) and The Minions for Illumination-McGuff.
Learn from the man who rigged Smaug |
You’ll learn all the basics of rigging in Autodesk Maya (a basic understanding of Maya will be helpful) and what character riggers do in the animation and VFX industry.
It's all about how characters and creatures get put together. Rigging is the art and craft of taking a 3D model and making a skeleton structure that makes it work, so that animators can breathe life into it and create a performance.

Great post. I was checking continuously this blog and I am impressed! Very useful information particularly the last part :) 3D animation involves the creation of moving images in a three-dimensional space using computer graphics. It encompasses modeling, texturing, rigging, animating, and rendering objects to bring them to life. 3D animations are widely used in various industries, including film, television, gaming, advertising, and education, to visualize complex concepts, tell compelling stories, and create immersive experiences. They offer a high level of realism and detail, making them a powerful tool for communication and entertainment.
