UCAS Deadline 15th January - Apply Now

UCAS - time to apply
If you're thinking of applying to study animation, games or VFX at Escape Studios, you have until January 15th to get your UCAS application in.

The main UCAS deadline is January 15th 2020.  We are now taking applications for the fourth intake of our integrated BA/MArt in Animation, Games and VFX - first launched in September 2016.  So don't delay - get your application in now.

Apply early
It's a good idea to apply on time, or even early, as places are strictly limited.  One of the most common questions I get asked by prospective students is: "should I wait to apply until I have finished my portfolio?" The answer is no.  Get your UCAS application in early, and worry about your portfolio later. You'll have plenty of time before attending one of our Creative Workshops to pull your portfolio together.

There are lots of reasons to apply to study animation with us, but we think that the quality of our students' work speaks for itself. Take two minutes to watch our latest animation demo reel below.

UCAS Deadline 15 January 2020
The official UCAS deadline is 15 January, but we're already receiving applications, and it's a good idea to get yours in early.  Applying early is a good thing; it shows us you have drive and commitment, and that you are well-organised - all good qualities for a career in the creative industries. It will also get you an early spot on one of our Creative Workshops.

About Escape Studios
Escape Studios have a long track record of placing students in the animation, VFX and Games industries. All our tutors have industry-relevant experience and we know what skills are needed to get a job.

Official Course Video
Watch our official course video here. It's only a few minutes long, and it explains what we're trying to do here at Escape Studios.

Partnerships with Industry
With around 4,000 Escapees working in the industry, Escape Studios have years of experience of forging partnerships with the animation and VFX business, especially the with the visual effects industry in Soho, London.

Soho, home to the UK's animation and VFX industry, is just a ten minute walk from our Holborn campus; we also have formal and informal connections to Framestore, Cinesite, MPC and other visual effects houses in London and overseas.

Where can you see the past work done by Escapees?
Take a look at past video compilations showcasing some of the work done by our students, and student demo reels.

Creative Workshops
We interview all our candidates at our Creative Workshop days, largely because we want to make sure that you are a good fit for our course, and vice versa - we don't want anyone to sign up at Escape and be disappointed. And yes, you will need a portfolio - check out our post here on portfolio suggestions.

Getting Ready
Here is a list of useful books to get you started. Number one is The Animator's Survival Kit - every student should have a copy. Also, check out the week 1 videos at Animation Apprentice, which are a great introduction to the art of animation. They are all free.
