If you'd like to find work as a character designer (and who wouldn't? It's one of the most fun jobs going in our industry) and you'd like to make your portfolio the best it possibly can be - sign up now for our webinar.
Best of all - it's completely free!
What's this webinar all about?
It's all about what's involved in forging a successful career as a character designer. Putting together an excellent portfolio of work is the ultimate goal for all of our students here at Escape Studios - and character design is no exception.
Characters from Queen's Counsel |
Why is this webinar needed?
Because breaking into the business as a character designer is hard. Many students do excellent work, but employers are looking for a surprisingly diverse range of skills. Character designers need to be able to suit the style of a production, and fit their own work in to the house style.
During the webimar I will be discussing my experience designing characters on movies and also on my long-running cartoon strip "Queen's Counsel" in The Times. Character design isn't just about drawing, it's about creating characters that also have heart and soul, that people can relate to.
I'll also be talking about some of the key mistakes animation artists make when creating and sharing their portfolios. I'll also show you the key things you need to do in order to make the best of the work you have done and stand out from the crowd. And, of course, I'll be taking questions at the end of the webinar.
Why Character Design now?
Because here at Escape Studios we're increasingly starting to tackle the development and pre-production side of animation and film production. We're running a new class in character design this October, taught by the very talented veteran character designer Vince Woodcock.
Where and when is the webinar?
The webinar will be taking place live on Monday 31st July at 4pm. The webinar will be one hour long. To sign uo, follow this link.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. The webinar is completely free.
Can I ask questions?
Absolutely! We welcome questions on air and we're here to help.
