How To Write a Dissertation

Calling all our MA Students at Escape Studios! Skills You Need is a website you need to know about, with some great resources for our students tackling masters-level study.

Here at Escape Studios we specialise in practical, industry-relevant skills, but our master's degrees do included a significant academic component, and this includes writing a fully-referenced dissertation following standard academic requirements.

A dissertation
What is a dissertation? Essentially, it's a research document, typically around 8,000 to 10,000 words, written in support of a post-graduate degree.

It's generally the most daunting part of masters-level study, and a number of academic requirements must be met in order to secure a passing grade.

The Skills You Need webpage offers very helpful advice on how to write a dissertation. It's pretty general advice, but it comes recommended by our academic team as a good starting point for your academic journey.

To find the site, follow this link. And if you're wondering about how to accurately reference your written work, don't forget this excellent site - citethemrightonline.com.

The Escape Studios Animation Blog offers a personal view on the art of animation and visual effects. To apply for our new BA/MA starting in September 2016, follow this link.
