Join us on Instagram on 14 July 2020 at 6.30pm for the first of our "Catch Up With Alumni" events, with special guest and Escapee Ricardo Ferreira.

How do you land that crucial first job in industry? Ricardo will talk about his career journey after leaving Escape Studios, and will take questions from our students and graduates on what they can do to launch their own careers, even in these difficult times. 

Ricardo has worked on many award-winning films, including Interstellar, Ex Machina and Gravity.

"Catch Up With Alumni" Events
The "Catch Up with Alumni" sessions take place on Instagram, and their aim is to inspire and motivate students by sharing the journeys of some of our recent alumni.  What is the secret to a successful career? What are some of the mistakes to avoid, and the key contributors to success? The host will be our very own Deputy Dean, St John Walker. 

Recent graduates and Escapees
This talk will be of especial interest to our recently-graduates student who have finished their studies at Escape Studios, and are looking to break into industry.  

About Ricardo Ferreira
Ricardo Ferreira is an award-winning Digital Compositor working in the cinematography industry since 2009. He studied digital compositing at Escape Studios, and since then has worked on many award-winning films, including Interstellar, Ex Machine and Gravity.

Ricardo was part of the team that won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 2015 on Interstellar, and 2016 on Ex-Machina. He has worked for many studios including Industrial Light Magic, DesignStudio, Cinesite Prime Focus, MPC, DoubleNegative, Trixter and Polarmedia.
