Escape Studios VFX Festival: 23 - 25 February 2016

Mark your calendar for next year's annual Escape Studios VFX Festival. The Festival takes place from February 23rd - 25th 2016, and brings you the very best in VFX, games, animation and motion graphics.

Escape Studios is London's leading provider of world-class, studio-ready talent for the VFX, Games and Animation industries.  To sign up for the mailing list (and benefit from an early-bird discount when tickets go on sale), go to the official site here.  So what exactly is in the festival, and what can you expect to see?

The VFX Festival 2016 is spread over three days of events.

Day One
Schools and colleges bring together students who are newcomers to the world of visual effects, giving them hands on experience of what a career in the industry will entail, including an exhibition hub, and detailed introduction to the VFX industry.

Day Two
is all about building a career in visual effects. Where are Escape Alumni now? Escapees come back and talk about how they broke into the industry.  To see some of the recent work done by students at Escape studios, watch the video below. My personal favourite is the shot of London's BT Tower coming down, made by Escapee Michael Battcock - it's the last shot on the reel. Skip forward if you're in a hurry!

Day Three
The final day sees professionals from all over the world come together and share their experiences and the lessons they have learned. There is a chance to discuss career opportunities with industry experts from Framestore, Cinesite, MPC and others.

To give you a flavour of what the Festival will be like, below is a panel talk on careers in VFX from the 2015 Festival, featuring a discussion of what it takes to break into the industry.

VFX is a constantly changing landscape. Last year's "big thing" is this year's old news. So come along, and find out about the latest trends in our industry.

And book early - last year's festival sold out fast!
